oh man oh man, here we go
1. if someone wanted to really understand you, what would they read, watch, and listen to?
They’d definitely have to watch Bridge to Terabithia. Is it corny? Yeah. Is it whimsy in the way of white people? Like hell. Do I love it? You have no idea. I’ve watched this movie so many times and I’ve cried during every single watching and I LOVE it. Also go listen to Owl City, especially his older stuff, and other Adam Young projects like Port Blue and Sky Sailing, because his music sounds like sunshine and stars and fresh ocean air. And idk about books bc there are too many. Read Narnia and HP probably.
2. have you ever found a writer who thinks just like you? if so, who?
Actually… I think the closest one’s John Green. Now, don’t get me wrong, I think his books aren’t all that great and are flawed in some fundamental ways (like little to no plot… and unreliable narrator going way too far… and being too high on meaning and too low on story… etc), but I find his way of thinking dangerously close to mine. Like, I’m prone to making the same mistakes he does in his stories. And his turn of phrase is lovely, and his words really resonate with me. So, yeah, John Green. Also he’s quite a precious human being, as proved by his vlogs and stuff. We really do think alike in a lot of ways.
3. list your fandoms and one character from each that you identify with.
damn here we go
- Harry Potter – Remus Lupin
- Doctor Who – Donna Noble
- a Song of Ice and Fire – Sansa Stark
- MCU – Bruce, when he’s well written (what’s AoU)
- Percy Jackson – Nico di Angelo
- Undertale – Alphys. she’s so much like me I didn’t like her at the beginning, which is quite telling.
- Hunger Games – Annie
- Pokemon – I really like N okay. he’s an idealist dork like me
- Leverage – ALEC HARDISON HACKER EXTRAORDINAIRE
- Disney – Cinderella
- Kingsman – EGGSY, MY HUFFLEPUFF SON
- Mad Max – Capable
- Pride & Prejudice – Jane, but she’s much better than me (and most people)
- I’m also not really in the Sherlock fandom anymore, but I still love Molly Hooper with all of my heart and I’d like to think we’re similar
- I’ve most certainly forgotten about something but oh well
7. do you care about your ethnicity?
Well… it’s complicated, really. Like, I’m not really that fond of Poland, but try to trash talk her in front of me and you’ll get rekt. I also love the country… physically? like, I love our mountains and lakes and countryside, it’s so beautiful and wonderful and amazing. And I quite like parts of our history and lots of our culture, like the language and art and literature. I’ll defend Eastern Europe till the day I die, okay, even if sometimes I hate it here. It’s shitty, but it’s mine, if you know what I mean. And no one gets to trash talk my shitty country but me and my fellow Poles. At the same time, I’d really like to move somewhere else, like Norway or Canada or New Zealand, bc those countries seem far more… good to live in. And I don’t identify with general Polish mentality.
tl;dr: I do care, I guess. It’s a complicated issue and I have lots of contradictory feelings towards it, but I can’t say I don’t care.
on the other hand, I really don’t care about being white, other than trying to be concious of my priviledge, lol
18. what’s your patronus?
Oh man. It’s either a common swift or a european hedgehog. I’d really like it to be the former, but it’s probably the latter, lol, not that I’d be disappointed with a hedgehog
30. pick one of your favorite quotes.
“If Einstein had not written down E=mc2, another scientist would one day have done so…but no one else could have written Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.” – Rebecca Attwood, quoting Dr. John Martin’s speech at Humanities Matter: The Campaign for the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
also I’m gonna cheat and pick another one:
“When you’re a kid, they tell you it’s all… grow up. Get a job. Get married. Get a house. Have a kid, and that’s it. But the truth is, the world is so much stranger than that. It’s so much darker. And so much madder. And so much better.” – Doctor Who, Love & Monsters
