it’s 2018 and here I am still in random moments overcome with emotion for my weird au severus snape who I never wanted to write and never wanted to like. why

when you make things nicer suddenly they hurt more and everything is terrible

me: i don’t like snape

inky: *writes snape well*

me: i like one snape.

While I absolutely agree that Lily Potter beat the shit out of snape when he joined the afterlife don’t forget Petunia Dursley.

Lily was estranged from her sister but still trusted her to take care of her son, who was found bleeding and crying on her doorstep after his parents were murdered. Only to find out that they hurt, starved, isolated, lied to, and locked in both a cupboard and then a room with bars on the window the son she died to protect so he could have a better life? I don’t care what the deleted scene said about petunia being sad lily died when she gets to the afterlife it is round two of lily potter MMA smackdown

The worst part is that Lily could 100% have adopted and loved Dudley if Petunia and Vernon had died.

Fortunately, not all of Lily’s afterlife interactions were like this though…can you imagine her meeting Fred Weasley?

“You kidnapped my son from my sister’s house?”

“Yes.”

“Took him out the window in a stolen flying car?”

“Yes.”

“I love you. If you need a mom until Molly gets here, I’d like to volunteer.”

I am absolutely in love with the idea of Lily the troublemaker, Lily the rebel, Lily the firecracker. Usually when people write about her and James, it’s him who’s “the cool parent”, all fun spells and elaborate pranks; but I prefer to imagine him as a worrywart, a doting father who nearly gives himself a heart attack when he visualises Harry doing half as much shenanigans as he did at Hogwarts. He’d be like, “I hope he remembers about the missing steps”, and “it’s unacceptable that they hold a quiddditch match in such weather, he’s completely soaked”, and “Hagrid is showing them what this week?!”.

Meanwhile, Lily is out of fucks to give. Harry duelled Malfoy because he insulted Hermione? That’s her boy! Gone into the Forbidden Forest, straight into acromantulas’ nest, to help Hagrid and Hermione and other students? Walks into the Chamber because Ginny got kidnapped? Risks his life to save Sirius? Words can’t express how proud she is. She announces herself the official patron saint of Gryffindor pranksters, and cheers loudly every time they fuck shit up. Yes, good; cause as much trouble as you can, kids. The adults have it all wrong and it’s up to you to fix it – or if you can’t, then annoying them is good, too. Fred and George are her favourite Weasleys, if just because they always seem to do exactly what she’d like to. But bless all the Weasleys, every single one of them (maybe except Percy), for providing her Harry with family when she is unable to.

And when Fred comes – no, she’s not happy at all, to see those twin halves of a whole separated like that, that’s so tremendously unfair and not right – but oh, she can finally hug him, after all those years, and tell him how grateful she is, how she thinks he’s brilliant, and those fireworks! amazing!, and that flying car rescue mission is absolutely legendary, bless their little anarchist hearts.

And neither of them have to say anything: everyone knows that Fred Weasley became a honorary son to Lily Potter the day he embraced that lost, scrawny kid as another family member.

as much as we all including (especially) me love “wild child teddy lupin” we have to realize that this is rita skeeter and although it is very likely that teddy is a wild child it’s just as likely that he’s a little remus lupin the second who victoire walks all over and who hasnt stopped blushing since that bloody article came out

think about the people of Hogwarts who are so accustomed to seeing a rather angry, grumpy, depressed, and overall stressed Harry suddenly walking around the halls holding hands with Ginny, a huge smile on his face and eyes bright. and when they’re sitting in the common room together he looks relaxed and peaceful and teachers notice he’s just a bit happier during lessons and then they see them sitting at dinner together and smile, because Harry looks genuinely happy for the first time in years. just a happy Harry Potter canoodling with Ginny Weasley (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
