Okay, if Gryffindor is the house of doing stupid, maybe dangerous things because it’s fun, Slytherin is the house of doing the same things because fuck you, Sarah, don’t tell me what not to do

And Ravenclaws do stupid, dangerous things sometimes because SCIENCE!!

Hufflepuffs do stupid, dangerous things because our friends are doing it and SOMEONE responsible better be involved

You know, this description actually makes sorting a hell of a lot easier.

A thousand years or more ago
When I was newly sewn,
There lived four wizards of renown,
Whose names are still well known:

Bold Gryffindor, from wild moor,
Fair Ravenclaw, from glen,
Sweet Hufflepuff, from valley broad,
Shrewd Slytherin, from fen

With 31 July just around the corner, I’ve been cooking up a lot of Harry Potter-inspired pieces! This House series was so much fun (Oh and you can now get prints of these in my Etsy *wink wink*)

just wondering: idk, but I always placed Capable in Gryffindor. not that Hufflepuff doesn’t suit her. I just… idk anymore. any thoughts?

oneangryshot:

man ok. i have trouble figuring out capable. i put her into hufflepuff because angharad is 100% gryffindor, which, to me, makes capable definitely. um. not. she’s the woman behind the woman, you know? she’s brave, of course, but she’s not going to charge headfirst into anything, she’s not going to be as reckless as angharad. the only time you really see her doing anything dangerous is in defence of angharad (holding her back/hitting max to try and get him to turn around). mostly i think she is hufflepuff because she is unfailingly loyal. she would do anything for angharad, i’m absolutely certain of it. it’s angharad’s idea to go to the green place, and capable does it for angharad. it’s angharad’s idea to throw herself in front of furiosa, and capable does it for angharad. she is the rock of the group, i think, the one that cheedo goes to when she’s frightened, the one that toast goes to when she has an idea. i think, too, that her reaction to nux’s appearance makes her hufflepuff. i think a gryffindor would react far more aggressively (even if they do have a no-killing rule). but capable’s reaction is to comfort the person who needs comforting, even though she is probably needs it more. gryffindors want to save the world, capable just wants to keep her family together. capable is brave without bravado. capable is a hufflepuff because she gives nux a chance. because she adopts the vuvalini mourning gesture. because she listens to toast before she says her bit about going back. because she knows how important it is for nux to be there, as he’s meant to. because she witnesses him. she’s probably the sort of person who forgets to give herself some love, because she is so busy loving everyone else.
